Defence Pension Adalat was organized at Ranchi on 25th and 26th July 2019. The Ranchi DPA was 168th such endeavor of Defence Account Department to redress the grievances of ex-servicemen and retired defence civilians residing in the state of Jharkhand.Defence Pension Adalat was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Honourable Governor of Jharkhand Smt Droupadi Murmu.
On the occasion,Hon. Smt Droupadi Murmu spoke about the important role Indian soldiers play in maintaining the unity, integrity and sovereignty of our country. She stressed upon the fact that pensionary benefits related to ex-servicemen and veer naari’s should not be kept pending. She also said that holding of Defence Pension Adalat highlights the priorities that Ministry of Defence and its various wings / department accord towards the welfare of brave soldiers and their dependents. Smt Droupadi Murmu also also briefed about recent central government decision to celebrate 23rd August as “Pensioners Day”.
Shri Sanjiv Mittal, CGDA spoke about the various digitalization initiatives that the PCDA(P) office is undertaking in order to provide timely and accurate pension to the pensioners. He also briefed about the Comprehensive Pension Package through which the pensioners would be receiving pension directly into their bank account from PCDA(P) office thereby cutting the role of banks as intermediaries.”
The other dignitaries who attended the Defence Pension Adalat were Shri Vishvajit Sahay, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), Shri Vipin K Gupta, Controller of Defence Accounts (Patna), Brig IMS Parmar, Deputy GOC 23 Inf Div.
